In the first season, we see Sartaj Singh (Saif Ali Khan) as a troubled police officer in Mumbai who one day receives a phone call from gangster Ganesh Gaitonde (Nawazuddin Siddiqui), who warns and tells him to save Mumbaai within 25 days. The second season will witness Koechlin play Batya Abelman, a whole new added character which is also not part of Vikram Chandra’s 2006 novel on which the show is based on. Batya is created by the writers, who is a long-time follower of Guruji (Pankaj Tripathi), the spiritual counselor as well as an advisor who had a cameo role in the first season of Sacred Games and has a big one in the second season. Koechlin’s character is going to be seen in both time periods of the show, as the gangster Ganesh Gaitonde (Nawazuddin Siddiqui), as well as Mumbai police officer Sartaj Singh (Saif Ali Khan), find their way to Guruji for changing yet alike reasons.

While we’re on the subject, Koechlin has a connection to a guru herself, for this, you can thank her parents’ devotion for Sri Aurobindo. But she says she didn’t persistently look back, however, she admits it may have subconsciously played a part: “I grew up with meditation centers. I grew up with this kind of communal workshops on how to better yourself as a person. And listening to long stories, lectures. Everyone thought they were a guru. It wasn’t just the guru, it was everyone. So I know what that feels like.”
The second season of Sacred Games is an insightful examination of how individuals work within organizations; of how everybody, irrespective of their position, is in some way or the other controlled by somebody else. It is about the predictability of evil as well as the power of religion, along with telling how they can produce a chemical reaction of nuclear magnitudes when they are brought together.
Season 2 is perfectly relating to the first season and is not going off the track. The performance of the cast is just perfect, same as season 1. Every actor has justified their character and this series is setting a perfect example of one of the best drama series on Netflix. The suspense, drama and everything in this series will let you stick to your seats throughout its running as it binds and engages yourself to its character and story.
We don’t want to give you any kind of spoiler as just like us you also have been also waiting for this too long. But we must want to say that this season is worth watching if you have not seen it yet, so the first thing to do after reading this article is to watch Sacred Games 2.
